About this site
what can you can find on this pages?
Note: This translation of my german site was done automatically with Systran and some manual editing. It contains lot of syntax errors but I hope you can read it. I look out for a better translation.
Everything began 1999, when I made my driving licence for motorcycles. From the first day I had the idea to visit europe by motorcycle journeys. The first attempts with a Honda Deuville were promising, but I miss something. I know some people who drive a Deuville with success, but for me it lacked somewhat achievement.
In the year 2000 Yamaha announced the FJR1300 and I place a blind order. This motorcycle fulfills all what I wished myself: powerfull engine, shaft drive, lots of cases and suited for long routes. Only the anti blocking break system wasn't available at this time.
After many reports in the internet and travel magazines the desire grew to take a Tour with with the motorcycle to Scotland. Since I did not know the country yet, I selected the possibility to book the tour over the travel agency HIT Motorradreisen. So I could enjoy the journey without any stress and no planing by my own.
Meanwhile I do some journeys and this website grows up. Here I present the routes in picture and text and some tips for the visited countrys.
It began with the mentioned journey to Scotland of 24.5 to 7.6.2003. In the following year I visited France and the castles at river Loire. 2005 I drive in spring to Czech and Slovakia and at autom to France, where we visit the Normandy.
Now you can find a travel diary for Scotland and Normandy on this site. I also have 3 picture gallery with more then 1.000 photos online. For Scotland I made some panorama pictures, which are available as jpg and mov. Take a closer look to the gallery on page 2.
The other journeys are available in form of a commentated picture gallery. Travel diaries are not ready yet. I write still at the texts and some day I put it on this site. Check this website from time to time if you like.
In the downloadarea I deposited a Scotland report as .pdf and the driven routes as data file for Garmin Mapsource (navigation system) so you can take a closer look to the route we drive. The files contain a large recording of the driven distance inclusive elevator profile and PoI's.
I hope the reports please you. Enjoy it. The guestbook is available for comments, praise and criticism.
